What is Sports Nutrition

and how can it help you?

Sports nutrition is the study and practice of nutrition and diet as it relates to athletic performance, to assist in achieveing the best results from our hard work and training schedules and to ensure effective repair of our muscles during periods of rest.

It aims to determine  the best possible type and quantity of fluid and food consumed by an athlete or regular exerciser and concentrates on ensuring their bodies aquire the correct balance of  nutrients such as vitamins, minerals and the all important carbohydrates, proteins and fats.


A nutritious diet for sportsman needs to be able to:

  1. Assist in goal achievement

  2. Ensure effective recovery 

  3. Reduce instance of injury

  4. Regulate an efficient and nutritioned body

Whether you're new to exercise, an elite athlete or simply looking to increase your chances of longevity with a healthier eating plan and gentle exercise regime, your body requires a specific balance of nutrients to succeed in achieveing your goals.


My knowledge of how our bodies store glycogen and fat and how we can fuel muscles before, during and after exercise means i can produce individualised plans for athletes and exercisers that will assist them in reaching their goals, whilst maintaining a happy and healthy body that will recover and repair well.
